I’ve started using my wife’s earbuds at cardiac rehab. Although they’re an Apple product, they bluetooth seamlessly with my Android phone. I downloaded Spotify to play songs to keep me motivated while I exercise. Pedaling for 9 minutes, rowing for 6 minutes, etc. can get tedious. But Monday, I was finished with exercises, and as I was wrapping up my paperwork, one of the nurses said, “Nice singing today.” With the earbuds in my ears, I hadn’t realized that I had been singing with the online songs. The nurse had a slight smirk on his face when he said it, so I took it to be a joke. But I didn’t care. I had finished my exercises in record time with minimal ‘pain and suffering’. I smiled at his off-handed compliment and mouthed a ‘thank you’ to him as I turned to leave. Psalm 40:3, “And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.” I was proud of my song selection that day, and I pray that Brian had heard a few ‘praises to the Lord’. Maybe he’ll think about the Lord a little more.
